“We Will Give Necessary Backing To Oborovwori To Succeed,” Says Urhobo Traditional Rulers

The Urhobo Traditional Rulers Council has reiterated its commitment to supporting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration through consistent prayers and backing.

This pledge was made by HRM Dr. Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe I, Chairman of the Urhobo Traditional Rulers Forum, during a recent meeting held at the palace of HRM Matthew Ediri Egbi, Owahwa II, the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom.

During the gathering, HRM Albert Akpomudje, SAN, Eyanvwien-Alaka I, the Owhorode of Olomu Kingdom, was officially inducted into the Urhobo Traditional Rulers Forum.

The Urhobo Traditional Rulers Forum serves as a vital platform where the twenty-four traditional rulers of the Urhobo Nation convene to deliberate and propose solutions to issues impacting the Urhobo people and their communities.

The June meeting, a significant event for the council, took place at the palace of the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, Owahwa II.

Following the meeting, HRM Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso, Abe I, who also serves as the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, informed journalists that these meetings consistently provide an opportunity to examine challenges facing the Urhobo Nation and explore strategies for fostering substantial development across the various Urhobo kingdoms.

HRM Abe I, emphasized that the forum remains dedicated to engaging with relevant authorities until matters concerning the peaceful coexistence of the Urhobo people and their neighbors are resolved amicably.The Chairman of the Urhobo Traditional Rulers Forum called for ongoing support for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s “MORE Agenda” and reaffirmed the forum’s commitment to continually promoting values that will sustain peace throughout the state.

A notable moment of the meeting was the official admission of Eyanvwien-Alaka I, the Ohworode of the ancient Olomu Kingdom, into the Forum.
