… Hail Governor Oborevwori for Restoring Hon. Reuben Izeze
… Welcome Over 100 PDP, ADC, NDC Defectors into APC Fold
By Sunday Apah
In a show of massive political solidarity, leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jeremi Ward 2, Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State, numbering in their thousands, have unanimously resolved to vote solidly for every candidate of the party in the 2027 general elections.
The enthusiastic stakeholders also poured glowing tributes on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for lifting the suspension of the Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads), Honourable Reuben Izeze, and for facilitating his swift return to office.
These firm resolutions were reached at a well-attended enlarged meeting of the ward held on Sunday at the country home of the APC leader in Ughievwen Kingdom, Olorogun Johnson Boro, in Agbowhiame community, Ughelli South Local Government Area.
The leaders and members declared that their decision to back Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu as APC Presidential Candidate; Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as APC Governorship Candidate; Senator Ede Dafinone as APC Senatorial Candidate for Delta Central; Rt. Hon. Francis Ejiroghene Waive as APC House of Representatives Candidate for Ughelli North/Ughelli South/Udu Federal Constituency; and Hon. Festus Utuama as APC Candidate for Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli South Constituency I, was a deliberate act of reciprocity.
They pledged to mobilise aggressively for a decisive five-out-of-five victory for the party in 2027.
Drawn from the seven communities that make up the ward — Otughievwen, Eyara, Imode, Oginibo, Erhuwaren, Agbaghare and Agbowhiame — the stakeholders expressed deep joy over the reinstatement of their illustrious son, Hon. Reuben Izeze, as Commissioner for Works.
They also noted with joy the presence of other high-profile office holders from the ward, including the member representing Ughelli South Constituency I in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Utuama, and the Director-General of the Delta State Local Content Agency, Olorogun Ese Kakor.
Speaking with characteristic passion at the meeting, the APC leader in Ughievwen Kingdom, Olorogun Johnson Boro, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for the meaningful infrastructural development and strategic political appointments that have positively impacted Jeremi Ward 2.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has shown uncommon magnanimity to Jeremi Ward 2,” Olorogun Boro declared. “For the roads, the empowerment programmes and the restoration of our own Hon. Reuben Izeze, we the people of this ward will not only thank him with our mouths — we will thank him with our votes. In 2027, Jeremi Ward 2 will deliver one hundred percent for every APC candidate on the ballot. That is our solemn covenant.”
On his part, Hon. Festus Utuama, the APC candidate for Ughelli South Constituency I, assured the people of continued and expanded commitment to human capital development and critical infrastructure should they renew his mandate.
“My people of Ughelli South Constituency I, I stand before you with a clear pledge,” Hon. Utuama said. “If you return me to the House of Assembly, I will work even harder to attract more development, create more opportunities for our youths and women, and ensure that no community in this constituency is left behind. Together, we will make our people proud.”

The Director-General of the Delta State Local Content Agency, Olorogun Ese Kakor, urged sustained loyalty to the APC, noting that consistent party support would open greater doors of empowerment and development for the ward.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Jeremi Ward 2, Olorogun Fidelis Tuvata, called for absolute unity among all leaders and members, stressing that only a cohesive front would deliver the ward’s target of a historic, record-breaking victory in the forthcoming elections.

Olorogun Tuvata, who also celebrated the elevation of Olorogun Boro as Political Leader of Ughievwen Kingdom, charged the people to demonstrate their gratitude by mobilising the grassroots to vote massively for the APC.

Other speakers, including Olorogun Sunday Apah, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media; Hon. Luckson Oniyan, Special Assistant to the Governor on Oil and Gas; Dr. Bright Djebah; Comrade Sadiq Hitler, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth; and the APC Women Leader in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Chief Mrs. Lizzy Djebah-Unurhoro, all pledged to canvass support from every nook and cranny of the ward.

The APC Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Mr. Edirin Ojays Ojigho, who also graced the occasion, charged the people to remain focused and disciplined.

“This is not the time for division or lukewarm commitment,” Mr. Ojigho stated. “Jeremi Ward 2 has shown the way today. Let every leader and member work with one mind, one voice and one purpose so that when the results are announced in 2027, this ward will be celebrated across Delta State as a model of APC strength and loyalty.”

The high point of the meeting was the formal reception of over one hundred members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Mr. Gabriel Okojevoh, into the APC.

The defectors were warmly welcomed by the APC ward and local government chairmen present, in a ceremony that underscored the growing appeal of the All Progressives Congress in the area.
