The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State will kick off its campaigns for the 2027 general elections in Oleh, the headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area, on November 5.

Senator James Manager, Director-General of the Delta APC Campaign Council, made the announcement on Tuesday during an interactive session in Asaba with members of the campaign council, directors, party candidates, local government chairmen, party chairmen and local government campaign coordinators.

Manager explained that the choice to open the campaign in the Isoko area was intentional. He added that the statewide effort would conclude in Okpe Local Government Area at a date and venue still to be fixed.

He called on candidates to step up their preparations, noting that the short time left demanded proactive and dedicated involvement in the party’s campaign activities.

The Director-General also encouraged candidates to advance the interests of every APC flag-bearer rather than focus solely on their personal goals. He stressed that victory for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the rest of the party’s candidates would hinge on collective effort among candidates and supporters.

“Whatever you are doing, please do it for everybody. As a candidate, whatever you are doing, do it for Mr President, do it for the governor and do it for the entire APC family,” Manager said.

He advised candidates to harness their platforms, including social media, to highlight the party’s programmes and achievements, and cautioned them against being sidetracked by opposition narratives.

Manager said the meeting had been organised to clear up questions and concerns that arose after the campaign council was inaugurated and to allow party leaders to share ideas with candidates and grassroots coordinators. He described it as one of several sessions aimed at improving coordination and ensuring the campaign structure works smoothly at every level.

He further instructed local government campaign committees to submit their membership lists by Wednesday so the council could plan and coordinate effectively. The former senator underlined the need to cover every community and ward, urging local organisers to select capable people who can mobilise support at the grassroots.

He emphasised that the campaign would require active involvement from party members across the state and that candidates must take their duties seriously and start preparing at once.

Earlier, Delta APC State Chairman Chief Solomon Arenyeka described the gathering as a key step toward the formal start of the party’s 2027 campaign. He praised the campaign council leadership for putting the required structures in place and called on stakeholders to cooperate in pursuit of the APC’s electoral goals.
