Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State is mourning the death of the iconic Urhobo musician and cultural figure, Prof. Johnson Oyibode Adjan, famously known as “The Ogburine.”

In a press release from his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor lauded Adjan as a premier ambassador of Urhobo culture, whose impact on music, philosophy, and traditional knowledge is immeasurable.

Oborevwori lamented Adjan’s passing as a profound loss for the Urhobo people, Delta State, and Nigeria, highlighting the musician’s dedication to safeguarding and advancing Urhobo heritage through his enduring compositions.
