His Royal Majesty, Matthew Ediri Egbi, Owahwa II, the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, has warmly commended Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for lifting the suspension of Hon. Reuben Izeze, the Commissioner for Works (Highways and Urban Roads).
The monarch’s appreciation was conveyed in an official statement jointly signed by Olorogun Matthew Akpogbemre Shaire, the Otota of Ughievwen Kingdom; Olorogun John Okoro, Secretary of Ughievwen Council of Chiefs; and Olorogun Sunday Apah, Director of Media and Publicity of Ughievwen Kingdom Palace.
The monarch expressed profound gratitude to the governor for what he described as a thoughtful and reconciliatory gesture.
In the statement, the monarch noted that the decision to reinstate the commissioner, an indigene of Ughievwen Kingdom, reflects the governor’s commitment to fairness, dialogue and the collective progress of Delta State.
He observed that such acts of statesmanship help to strengthen the bond between the government and the people.
The Okobaro emphasised that Hon. Izeze’s return to his portfolio would enable continuity in the delivery of critical road infrastructure projects across the state.
He expressed confidence that the commissioner would resume his duties with renewed dedication and a clearer sense of purpose.
The monarch also used the opportunity to reaffirm his unwavering support for the policies and programmes of the Oborevwori administration.
He stated that Ughievwen Kingdom remains a reliable partner in the pursuit of peace, development and good governance in Delta State.
The traditional ruler described the lifting of the suspension as a welcome development that promotes unity and stability in the political space.
He urged all stakeholders to continue working together in the interest of the people.
The monarch pray for divine guidance upon the governor and his entire team as they continue to steer the affairs of the state.
He pledged to remain prayerful and supportive of every initiative aimed at improving the lives of Deltans.
