Former Leader of Udu Local Government Council Legislative Arm, Chief Ejiro Kayan, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of President General of Orhuwhorun Community.
In his declaration, Kayan made a firm commitment to run an all-inclusive government if elected.
He emphasized that his administration would prioritize unity, transparency, and the collective advancement of Orhuwhorun.
According to him, the community needs a leader who can bridge existing divides and foster a sense of belonging among all quarters and groups within the town.
Kayan made the declaration during a consultative visit to Chief Peter Toweh, the most elderly man of Eteme Quarters in Akoto, Orhuwhorun town.
He stated that the visit was as a result of his respect for traditional institutions and his desire to seek blessings and guidance from community elders.
He noted that he considered the consultation vital in the community’s political process, as they demonstrate a candidate’s commitment to cultural values and intergenerational dialogue.
During the visit, Kayan elaborated on his vision for Orhuwhorun, outlining plans to enhance security and improve development.
He stressed that his experience in legislative leadership at the local government level has prepared him to navigate complex community issues effectively. “I am not here to divide us but to bring everyone together under a shared vision of progress,” Kayan stated.
In response, Chief Peter Toweh prayed for Kayan and expressed his support for the former legislator’s aspirations.
The elder urged Kayan to remain focused on the welfare of the people and to uphold the principles of fairness and justice.
Toweh also called on other community members to give Kayan a fair hearing and to participate actively in the electoral process.
