His Royal Majesty, Matthew Ediri Egbi, Owahwa II, the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom, has extended his warmest felicitations to the Vice-Chancellor of Southern Delta University, Professor Sunny Awhefeada, as he celebrates his birthday anniversary on October 30, 2026.
The monarch’s congratulatory message was contained in a formal statement released on September 30, 2026 and was jointly signed by high-ranking palace officials, including Olorogun Matthew Akpogbemre Shaire, the Otota of Ughievwen Kingdom; Olorogun John Okoro, Secretary of Ughievwen Council of Chiefs; and Olorogun Sunday Apah, the Director of Media and Publicity for the Ughievwen Kingdom Palace.
In the statement, Owahwa II described Professor Awhefeada as a distinguished scholar and an administrator of high repute.
The monarch noted that the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership at Southern Delta University has been marked by excellence, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to the advancement of higher education in the state and Nigeria at large.
The royal father highlighted the Vice-Chancellor’s significant role in shaping the minds of the younger generation.
He stated that the Professor’s intellectual contributions and administrative prowess have brought immense joy not only to the academic community but also to the Ughievwen Kingdom, where he is held in high esteem.
The Okobaro further remarked that under the visionary leadership of Prof. Awhefeada, Southern Delta University has witnessed remarkable growth and stability.
The monarch acknowledged that the Vice-Chancellor’s tenure has fostered a conducive environment for both teaching and research, effectively elevating the institution’s standing among its peers.
Conveying his royal blessings, the Okobaro prayed for God’s continued guidance, wisdom, and divine protection over the Vice-Chancellor.
