Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has conveyed his sincere congratulations to Chief Solomon Ogba, Vice President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), in honor of his 65th birthday celebrated on May 1.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, Governor Sheriff commended Chief Ogba for his significant contributions to the advancement of Delta State and the country as a whole.
He recognized Ogba’s substantial influence in the realms of sports and politics throughout Delta, Nigeria, and the broader African continent, emphasizing that his three-decade-long involvement in sports administration has brought about transformative changes.
The Governor characterized Ogba as an eminent sports administrator and political figure, underscoring his role as Delta State’s Commissioner for Sports, during which the state’s athletic landscape saw remarkable growth and innovative advancements.
“Chief Ogba’s leadership in both the political and sports arenas is admirable and sets a standard for others to follow. Under his stewardship, Delta State consistently excelled at the National Youth Games and the National Sports Festival.
“As an experienced professional in sports administration and public service, Ogba has cultivated numerous elite athletes and leaders, instilling pride in Delta, Nigeria, and Africa through his commitment to excellence in sports.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Delta State, I extend heartfelt congratulations to you, Chief Solomon Omamoezi Ogba, on your 65th birthday.
