Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has conveyed his profound sorrow over the death of former Military Administrator of Delta State, Commander Walter Feghabo (Rtd).
He characterized Feghabo’s passing as a significant loss, not only for the Ijaw Nation but for the entire country as well.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Oborevwori extended his condolences to the government and citizens of Bayelsa State, the Nembe Kingdom, and Feghabo’s family, highlighting that Nigeria has lost a disciplined officer, an exemplary leader, and a true representative of the Niger Delta.
Commander Feghabo was the inaugural Military Administrator of Ebonyi State before serving in the same capacity in Delta State, where he established important governance structures and initiated essential infrastructure and agricultural projects that were crucial to the state’s early development.
“Commander Feghabo approached public service with the same discipline, dedication, and integrity that characterized his military career. As the Military Administrator of Delta State, he exemplified an unwavering commitment to inclusive governance, peace, and sustainable growth. His contributions will forever be part of the state’s lasting legacy,” remarked the Governor.
Also, Governor Oborevwori praised Feghabo’s involvement in traditional leadership, particularly as the Alternate Chairman of the Nembe Chiefs Council, where he served with honor and wisdom under the guidance of His Majesty, King Edmund Daukoru, Mingi XII, Amanyanabo of the Nembe Kingdom.
He urged Feghabo’s family to find comfort in the exemplary life of service he led and assured that Delta State will remember him with high regard and appreciation.
On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, Oborevwori stated, “We express our heartfelt sympathies to his family, the Nembe Kingdom, the Ijaw Nation, and the government of Bayelsa State. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
