The Delta State Government has announced the initiation of payments for the 2023/2024 Students Special Assistance Scheme (Bursary Award), benefiting eligible Deltans enrolled in higher education institutions nationwide.
Dr. Godfrey Enita, the Executive Secretary of the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board, shared this update in a statement issued in Asaba on Saturday.
He confirmed that the payment process will begin on February 3, 2025.
In his remarks, Dr. Enita praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his approval of the initiative, noting that a total of 32,028 students will receive support through the bursary program.
“This announcement serves to inform the public, particularly Delta State students attending tertiary institutions across Nigeria, that the Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board will begin disbursing the 2023/2024 Students Special Assistance Scheme (Bursary Award) starting February 3, 2025,” he stated.
“This financial assistance is designated for students of Delta State origin who have fulfilled the required registration and verification processes for this academic year’s bursary.”
Dr. Enita also expressed gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, for prioritizing the welfare of Delta State students and enhancing educational progress, which remains a central aspect of his M.O.R.E agenda.
The Board encourages all 32,028 eligible students to remain dedicated to their studies and represent Delta State with pride in their respective institutions.
