The outgoing executive committee of Oproza Grammar School, Patani, led by Dr. Ayakeme Whisky, has formally handed over leadership responsibilities to the newly elected executives led by Dame Celestina Kekai.

Among the items transferred were financial records, books, presidential regalia, and other essential documents.
During the handover ceremony, Dr. Whisky expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the contributions of the late Isaac Onitsha, who generously offered his hotel as a venue for alumni meetings free of charge, often providing refreshments for attendees.

Dr. Whisky also highlighted the recognition given to certain persons during his tenure for their invaluable contributions to the association, including the following awards: the Posthumous Award for Academic Excellence to Tuomo Obiri; Posthumous Awards to Ebiere Helen Fumudoh and Isaac Onitsha; the Award of Honour to ACG Charles Edike (Rtd.); and the Award for Humanitarian Services to AIG Ayim Abraham Egong.
In his remarks, Dr. Ayakeme Whisky provided a brief history of the OGSOSA Alumni Association, noting its founding by himself, Charles Edike (President Emeritus), and the late Ebiere Helen Fumudoh, which eventually led to the establishment of state chapters.
He reflected on the challenges he faced in encouraging members to take on leadership roles during his administration.
Engr. Charles Hobobo, the immediate past Vice President II, advised the new executives to remember the sacrifices made by Dr. Ayakeme Whisky and other founding members, which laid the groundwork for the growth of OGSOSA.
In her response, the newly elected President of OGSOSA, Dr. Celestina Predia Kekai KSM, expressed her appreciation to the outgoing president and his team for their collaboration with the new executive.
She encouraged Dr. Whisky to remain approachable for guidance to foster continuity, unity, and progress within the association.
Dr. Kekai emphasized the importance of exploring new opportunities while acknowledging the value of wisdom from the previous executive team.
She recognized that service is voluntary and advised that individuals should not be penalized for unmet expectations; instead, their contributions would be remembered for future generations.
