Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, has sanctioned the immediate suspension of both the Rector and Bursar of Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, effective for six months.
Also, the previous suspension of the Registrar, imposed by the Polytechnic’s Governing Council, has been confirmed.
In a statement issued by Dr. Kingsley Eze Emu, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), it was clarified that this action aims to facilitate a comprehensive and impartial investigation into claims of administrative misconduct and financial irregularities that have been brought against these officials by the Governing Council.
The statement also appointed the Deputy Rector to serve as Acting Rector throughout the suspension period, while the most senior accountant in the Bursary Department will step in as Acting Bursar for the same timeframe.
