The Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Security, Olorogun Godwin Okporoko, has expressed confidence that Tantita Security Services will play a critical role in helping the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) meet its ambitious target of increasing crude oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day by the year’s end.

Okporoko made this statement in response to comments made by Bashir Ojulari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPCL, during an interview with State House correspondents last Sunday night after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at his private residence in Lagos.

The NNPCL CEO had emphasized that the company is on track with its plans to enhance Nigeria’s crude oil production to 1.8 million barrels per day before the end of the year. This ambitious target reflects the government’s commitment to revitalizing the oil sector and maximizing its output.

In his response, Okporoko conveyed strong support for the NNPCL CEO, stating that the collaborative efforts between Tantita and NNPCL would provide the necessary security measures to protect the pipelines and other vital oil infrastructure across the region.

He emphasized that safety and efficiency are paramount in ensuring that the production target is not only met but also sustained.

“The commitment from Tantita to secure oil facilities is a vital component of NNPCL’s strategy.

“By protecting these installations from sabotage and illegal activities, we can create an environment conducive to production flourishing,” said Okporoko.

Moreover, he highlighted that effective security operations would facilitate the uninterrupted flow of activities essential for achieving the targeted output.

“In Delta State, we recognize the urgency to secure our oil assets, and Tantita is committed to leveraging our local resources to support NNPCL in this endeavor,” he added.

Okporoko further explained that Tantita’s experience in providing security services tailored to the unique needs of the oil industry positions it as a key player in the effort to bolster production.

The company’s approach focuses on proactive security measures that not only deter crime but also enhance community involvement and monitoring.

In addition to safety and security, Okporoko pointed out that achieving higher production levels would have a ripple effect on local economies.

“Increased oil output could lead to job creation, improved infrastructure, and better community services, emphasizing the critical link between oil production and socio-economic development”, said Okporoko.
