Former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta Central Senatorial District, Olorogun Adelabu Bodjor, has stated that the unification of APC and PDP political warriors into one APC marks the end of opposition politics in Ughelli South Local Government Area.
Adelabu made this statement during a speech when executives and members of the Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC) paid him a visit to introduce the group on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at his residence in Ekakpamre community.
He expressed gratitude to the group, referring to their visit as a gesture that added joy to his life.
According to him, “We have navigated the political terrain together for years, and we will continue to do so. Today, by the act of providence and grace, we hope to achieve a presence in Government House, Asaba, by 2027.”
“We have faced each other as opposing political parties over the years, but today we stand united. The great warriors have become a single entity; no other party can confront the APC anymore.”
“It is APC for all of us. Another commendable aspect of your gathering is your assembly of quality men and women.”
“We should shun politics of bitterness. Politics will come and go, but we must remain brothers. You all don’t need introductions because I know each of you.”
“I want to thank all of you for choosing to come together to work in unison for the progress of the party.”

“I advise that your campaign should emphasize that the USPC supports Tinubu, Oborevwori, and all APC candidates.”
“I can confidently say that I stand firmly behind you. I see your commitment and believe there is no other group in the local government that can compare to yours.”
“I encourage others to join the USPC for a better outcome in 2027. Positions will be created to accommodate them.”
“It is better for us to speak with one voice in Ughelli South LGA. If you ask for what you need and it is provided, aren’t you a winner? Let’s reach out to our allies to join this group. I pledge to bring more Colonels into the USPC,” he added.
Earlier, Olorogun John Akaruayen Ewenede, Chairman of the Ughelli South Political Colonels, along with Publicity Secretary Dcn. Matthew Kwode, stated that the objective was to introduce the group’s executives to Olorogun Adelabu Bodjor, one of the APC leaders in the local government area.
According to them, the Ughelli South Political Colonels (USPC) is a disciplined political pressure group within the APC, committed to advancing the party’s progressive ideals in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
In their words, “The group seeks to strengthen party cohesion, empower grassroots members, and promote issue-based political engagement throughout the local government area.
“By mobilizing grassroots participation, strengthening internal party democracy, and advocating for citizens’ involvement in the ongoing INEC registration exercises, we aim to advance the progressive ideals of the APC.
“We intend to foster policy-driven leadership and build a disciplined, inclusive, and responsive political movement dedicated to the growth of the party and the empowerment of the community.
“We aspire to become the leading grassroots political force within the APC in Delta State, known for principled leadership, inclusive governance, grassroots mobilization, and promoting sustainable development in Ughelli South and beyond.”
They emphasized that the USPC focuses on mobilizing grassroots participation through political education and community engagement, advocating for governance that addresses real issues and delivers measurable results.
“The USPC is rooted in principles of discipline, loyalty to party ideals, inclusive participation across age, gender, and class, as well as transparency, accountability, and issue-based politics.
“Our membership is open to all registered APC members in Ughelli South LGA who align with the group’s vision and support the candidacy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, Executive Governor of Delta State, for the forthcoming 2027 general elections.”
