His Majesty, Odjaberen Matthew Ediri Egbi, the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom has conferred chieftaincy titles to Prince James Okoligbo and Mrs. Regina Lieber, designating them as Avwighotuvwovwi and Akpoufuoma of Ughievwen Kingdom, respectively.
During the ceremony held at his Palace in Otughievwen, the monarch emphasized the importance of upholding the dignity and honor associated with their new titles while encouraging his chiefs to actively participate in the kingdom’s development.
As he conferred the titles, the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom remarked that earning a title in Ughievwen is a significant achievement, one that should be cherished with dignity and respect.
He reminded the newly conferred Chiefs Okoligbo and Lieber of the considerable responsibilities accompanying their new roles and urged them to serve as exemplary ambassadors for the kingdom.
He emphasized the need to prioritize peace and stability within Ughievwen, the state, and their local communities to attract genuine investors to the area.
The monarch also encouraged the new chiefs to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Ughievwen people and to assist the government in maintaining peace and stability throughout the state.
He called on his subjects to unite and foster peace in accordance with recent judgments, which he believes are essential for the kingdom’s rapid growth and development.
On the occasion of Delta State’s 34th anniversary, the Okobaro extended his congratulations to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the people of Delta for the achievements made since the state’s establishment.
He urged Deltans to continue their cooperation with the current administration.
In an interview following the ceremony, Chief James Okoligbo and Chief Regina Lieber expressed their gratitude to the Okobaro of Ughievwen Kingdom and the Ughievwen Council of Chiefs for the honor conferred upon them.
They both indicated that this recognition will motivate them to contribute even more to humanity and the welfare of the Ughievwen community.
Moreover, Chief Okoligbo and Chief Lieber praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his significant developmental initiatives across the state, urging Deltans to maintain their unwavering support for his efforts to bring democratic benefits to all regions of the state.
The event was filled with color and excitement, featuring various traditional dance groups, including the renowned Udje of Ughievwen Kingdom.
