Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed his appreciation for the Olu of Warri, His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, highlighting his exceptional leadership, commitment to cultural revival, and significant contributions to peace and development within the state.

During a ceremony held at the palace grounds in Aghofen, Warri, to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Olu’s coronation, Governor Oborevwori described the monarch’s reign as a symbol of peace, unity, and dedicated leadership.

The Governor was represented by Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, who was part of a distinguished state government delegation.

He commended Ogiame Atuwatse III for transforming traditional leadership through his commitment to integrity, innovative approaches, and a global perspective.

“Since taking the esteemed throne in August 2021, Your Royal Majesty has proven that traditional leadership, when informed by vision and ethical principles, can be a powerful catalyst for change,” remarked the Governor.

Rt. Hon. Oborevwori emphasized that the Olu’s leadership has fostered unity in the Warri Kingdom, advanced the progressive values of the Itsekiri people, and upheld the principles of equity, justice, and cultural pride.

He also noted the Olu’s significant efforts in building partnerships and attracting investments, which have helped position Warri as a burgeoning economic hub, in line with the state government’s M.O.R.E Agenda—focused on Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security.

Reinforcing his administration’s commitment to the traditional institution, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori stated, “The peace in Warri Kingdom under your leadership has laid the groundwork for our ongoing infrastructure projects, community empowerment, and development initiatives across Delta State.”

The Governor extended his warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty and the entire Itsekiri community, expressing hope that the monarch’s reign continues to inspire and drive progress.

“May your reign be a guiding light for unity and advancement in Iwere land, Delta State, and Nigeria as a whole,” he affirmed.

The ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including members of the National and State Assemblies, representatives from Federal and State Executive Councils, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and well-wishers from both within and outside the Itsekiri community.

The event showcased cultural performances, traditional music, and tributes celebrating the Olu’s leadership and unwavering dedication to the well-being of his people.
