Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State have unanimously declared that President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori are the only candidates for the party in the upcoming presidential and gubernatorial elections slated for 2027.
During a recent meeting, these leaders affirmed Chief Bernard Edewor, a prominent politician and business magnate, as the recognized leader of the APC in Ethiope East. This announcement drew widespread support from all attending leaders and stakeholders.
LGA Chairman, Chief Julius Ogboru, along with notable figures such as State Director of Protocol, Chief Sunday Onoriode, and former Rt. Hon. Sunny Emeyese, expressed that their collective decision to endorse Tinubu and Oborevwori was influenced by their effective leadership and governance since taking office in 2023.
The leaders acknowledged Tinubu’s considerable political acumen, competence, and steadfast commitment to realizing the Renewal Hope Agenda, highlighting the newly revamped policies and initiatives that have laid the groundwork for economic recovery and sustained growth.
They reinforced their confidence that Tinubu’s economic strategies would continue benefiting Nigerians, citing the declining inflation rates and emerging signs of a robust economy.
The meeting praised the president for eliminating the fuel subsidy, which has significantly increased monthly allocations to the states, as well as for advancing major road infrastructure projects that connect various cities and communities across the nation.
Reflecting on Governor Oborevwori’s exemplary achievements in Delta State, Ethiope APC leaders commended his efforts in massive infrastructure development across all three senatorial districts.
They noted that in just two years, the governor has received three prestigious national awards, signifying his excellence in governance, infrastructure, and overall leadership, thereby propelling Delta State to a prominent position as one of Nigeria’s leading economies.
The leaders urged both President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori to maintain focus in implementing the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda, expressing assurance that the 2027 elections would be an effortless victory for the party in Ethiope East, Delta State, and the nation at large.
In opening remarks, Chief Julius Ogboru conveyed his satisfaction with the turnout of leaders and stakeholders, emphasizing the necessity of unity for electoral success.
“This meeting is long overdue, and I am thrilled to see the APC family in Ethiope East unite as one. Unity and a shared vision are fundamental to our victory,” he stated.
Former National Assembly member Rt. Hon. Lovette Idisi moved the motion for endorsing President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori as the APC’s sole candidates for the 2027 elections, which was seconded by Rt. Hon. Akpodiogaga Sunny Emeyese. The motion received overwhelming support from all present LGA leaders, signaling a strong party consensus.
In a goodwill message, Okakuro Sunday Onoriode, Director of Protocol to the Executive Governor of Delta State, encouraged leaders and stakeholders to focus on party loyalty and strategic planning as they prepare for the 2027 elections.
“We are one LGA, one party, and we must present a united front. The success of our great party starts with moments like this,” he emphasized.
