Warri Wolves Football Club has been crowned the champions of the 2025 Nigerian National League (NNL) after defeating Wikki Tourists of Bauchi 3-2 in an exhilarating final held at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Saturday.

Known as the Seasiders, Warri Wolves thrilled fans with a commanding first-half display, quickly establishing a three-goal lead thanks to goals from Lateef Yusuf, Igbunu Evwierhurhoma, and Efe Yarherhe.

Yusuf made a quick impact by scoring the opening goal early in the match, followed by Evwierhurhoma and Yarherhe, who found the net within the first 31 minutes, providing the team with a significant advantage.

Despite their setback, Wikki Tourists refused to back down. Mahmood Aliyu scored just before halftime, and Wonderson added another goal for the Bauchi team early in the second half, intensifying the competition.

However, Warri Wolves managed to maintain their composure and secured the title, claiming the 2025 NNL championship.

This match concluded the NNL Super 8 tournament, which took place from July 5 to 12 and attracted many notable attendees. The ceremonial kick-off was delivered by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme. Former Minister of Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, was also present at the event.

Other teams participating in the Super 8 included Doma United FC, Barau FC, Yobe Desert Stars FC, Kun Khalifat FC, Crown FC, and Osun United FC.

With their victory, Warri Wolves not only secured a cash prize of N5 million but also achieved promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), marking their return to the top flight after more than four years in the lower division.
