Suspected kidnappers on Tuesday killed a male resident of Ovwor-Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State and also shot his son.
A reliable source, who preferred to remain anonymous, told DAILYSHINE NEWS that the man was killed by the suspected kidnappers because he attempted to escape from them.
He added that during the escape, the man’s son was also shot but survived the attack and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the state.
The anonymous source further stated that over seven kidnapping incidents have occurred in Ovwor-Olomu town in less than a month.
He called on security agencies to come to their aid, as residents living on the outskirts of the community are no longer safe and are the primary targets.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of Delta State, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.
