The wife of Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has responded to a viral video on social media that claims the family of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph, who recently welcomed quintuplets, has been neglected by the state government.
In a statement issued by her media office on Tuesday, Deaconess Oborevwori characterized the video as deceptive and highlighted that both her office and the Delta State Government have already provided significant assistance to the family.
The statement revealed that “Deaconess Oborevwori personally visited the Joseph family at their home in Ugbori, within the Warri South Local Government Area, shortly after the quintuplets were born.”
“She was joined by Hon. Weyinmi Agbateyinro, the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council, and his wife, Roli Agbateyinro.”
“During the visit, Deaconess Oborevwori offered the family cash gifts and essential supplies. Furthermore, she presented the keys to a fully stocked shop, aligning with Mrs. Joseph’s expressed interest in running a business.”
“In addition to these acts of kindness, she also covered five years of rent for a three-bedroom apartment in a safe and comfortable neighborhood for the family.”
While acknowledging that requests for additional support for the family may arise, she emphasized that such appeals should not detract from the genuine and meaningful assistance already provided by the state government.
Deaconess Oborevwori encouraged the public to fact-check information before sharing it and reaffirmed her office’s commitment to helping vulnerable families and newborns throughout Delta State.
