Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Wednesday, visited the exhibition hall at the ongoing 16th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) in Macao, China.
The exhibition featured advanced technologies and infrastructure innovations, with a particular emphasis on sustainable road development and energy efficiency.
Accompanied by Delta State’s Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, Technical Assistant Engineer Bob Nakpodia, and other esteemed dignitaries from around the globe, Governor Oborevwori explored numerous booths that showcased state-of-the-art waste-to-energy plants, innovative waste management strategies, and renewable energy systems.
The event aimed to highlight recent advancements in transforming waste into clean energy, addressing both environmental concerns and energy needs.
Governor Oborevwori showed great interest and appreciation for the waste-to-energy (WTE) technologies presented, recognizing their potential to alleviate landfill pressures while contributing renewable energy to the power grid.
His visit reinforces his administration’s dedication to international cooperation and the implementation of global best practices in sustainable development, particularly in the areas of waste management and clean energy.
The Governor noted that Macao’s expertise in WTE infrastructure provides valuable insights and opportunities for adaptation and investment in Delta State.
Motivated by the innovations showcased at the IIICF, Governor Oborevwori highlighted that his government is eager to pursue partnerships and investments in WTE initiatives as part of its broader commitment to environmental stewardship and economic resilience.
