In a strong show of solidarity, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Delta Central Senatorial District has officially endorsed President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as their exclusive candidates for the upcoming 2027 elections.

This endorsement came during the APC Delta Central Mega Unity Meeting held in Ughelli, which brought together key political figures and supporters from federal, state, and local government levels. The gathering focused on reinforcing their commitment to President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori’s leadership.

Rt. Hon. Francis Waive, who represents the Ughelli/Udu Federal Constituency, proposed the motion for their adoption, commending President Tinubu’s economic policies and Governor Oborevwori’s effective governance.

Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Halims Agoda, supported the motion, further demonstrating the consensus within the party.

Senator Ede Dafinone, who represents Delta Central, conducted a voice vote on the motion, which was unanimously approved, highlighting the party’s robust support for both leaders.

The assembly also expressed confidence in the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori, with local party leaders reaffirming their support for their re-election in 2027.

Chief Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, emphasized that the meeting was designed to enhance unity among party members. He described President Tinubu as an exemplary steward of national resources and pointed out the complementary relationship between the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which aims to benefit the entire populace.

Keyamo remarked, “This meeting is not merely a routine gathering. This is the ‘Ukodo’ base, and it is imperative that no other senatorial district claims this initiative.”

He further noted that since the inception of democratic governance in 1999, the Urhobo nation in Delta Central has never been as united as it is now, predicting that this unity would enable the APC to secure a 100% vote in Delta State for the first time.

The Unity Meeting is planned to be replicated across the eight local governments in the senatorial district, encouraging leaders to proceed with resolve and purpose.

Elder Omeni Sobotie, the State Chairman of the APC, emphasized the importance of the gathering, which he labeled the “All Progressive Congress, Delta Central Unity Meeting.” He thanked the supporters for their dedication and commended both Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Festus Keyamo for their pivotal roles in promoting party unity.

Chief Paulinus Akpeki, the Chairman of the party in Delta Central Senatorial District, remarked that the state is experiencing a transformative era under Governor Oborevwori and praised his decision to join the APC.

Akpeki stated, “Today signifies a moment of unity, purpose, and vision. It is a day for us to reaffirm our commitment to collectively pave a common path forward.”

Prominent speakers at the event, including 2015 APC gubernatorial candidate Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, Chief Stella Okotete, Executive Director at NEXIM Bank, Chief Adviser to the Delta State Governor Senator Ighoyota Amori, and Chief Jaro Egbo, Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government, reiterated their dedication to unity and promised to collaborate for the party’s success in the forthcoming elections.

The meeting was well attended by members of the National and State Assemblies from the district, federal appointees, commissioners, local government chairpersons, and other political office holders.
