...Pledges Support for Tinubu, Oborevwori, the APC

As the 2027 general elections draw nearer, Delta State Commissioner for Works, Comrade Reuben Izeze, has officially dispelled the increasing pressure for him to enter the electoral race for any political position.

In a statement released on Monday, Izeze, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, reiterated his steadfast support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and all candidates that will represent the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I will not be running for any elections in 2027,” Izeze firmly stated.

“My primary focus is on rallying support and securing votes for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all candidates of our party, the APC.”

He expressed gratitude for the encouragement from his supporters, acknowledging their calls for him to seek office. However, he emphasized that his current objective is to bolster the party’s prospects in the upcoming elections.

“I am thankful for the trust and confidence expressed by my supporters in urging me to run, but now is not the appropriate time. My priorities lie in strengthening the party and ensuring victories for our candidates throughout the election,” he added.

Izeze highlighted the critical need for unity within the APC, recognizing that Nigeria is at a pivotal moment in its democratic development.

He appealed to party members and stakeholders to unite and collaborate in advancing the developmental agenda of the current administration at both the state and national levels.

“As a party, we need to remain focused and cohesive. Our mission is to build on the successes of our leaders and provide greater benefits of democracy to the people. This is where my energy and dedication will be directed,” he stated.

The former lawmaker, whose bursary initiative has now entered its second year with over 500 beneficiaries, continues to be a key source of academic support and financial assistance for students from Ughievwen and Ughelli South pursuing excellence in higher education.

Izeze’s choice to step away from the 2027 election race is viewed by political analysts as a strategy that could enhance internal solidarity within the APC in Delta State, where efforts are being made to strengthen grassroots mobilization ahead of the elections.
