Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s journey has been anything but easy. He faced numerous challenges, including being underrated, denigrated, maligned, and vilified. Yet, he triumphed over 38 court cases to emerge as the undisputed Executive Governor of Delta State.

Today, Oborevwori stands out not only for his resilience but also for his undeniable street credibility. He serves as a beacon of competence, excellence, prudence, and unwavering commitment to the growth and development of Delta State through his innovative MORE Agenda.

His relentless drive for efficiency and flawless execution has endearingly connected him with Deltans across all ethnic, religious, and political affiliations.

His actions speak volumes; guided by a clear vision and excellent results, every decision he makes reflects a profound understanding of the state’s challenges and a steadfast dedication to its people.

Over the past two years, Governor Oborevwori’s performance has been remarkable and unprecedented. He has practically transformed Delta State into a hub of infrastructural development, complemented by robust social welfare programs. The state government has rolled out numerous initiatives under the MORE Agenda that have significantly benefited Deltans:

– The D-CARES Programme has supported over 250,000 beneficiaries from micro, small, and medium enterprises.
– The MORE-Grant Programme has empowered over 5,000 women and continues to grow.
– The Women Empowerment Skills Acquisition Program (WESAP) and the MORE Business Upscale Programme (MORE BIZ-UP)** have created jobs and opportunities for wealth generation.

In the realm of agriculture, Governor Oborevwori has provided agricultural inputs to over 6,000 farmers to enhance production and food security across the state.

He has committed N1 billion in counterpart funding for the African Union Development Agency – New Partnership for African Development, aimed at empowering more than 2,000 farmers in various sectors, including poultry, fish farming, cassava cultivation, maize crops, and pepper production.

Governor Oborevwori’s administration has also garnered numerous accolades for its achievements. Awards from ThisDay and Arise Media Group, Daily Telegraph Newspaper, and Vanguard Newspapers for Good Governance underscore the impactful strides of his government.

Currently, his administration is executing 513 road projects spanning over 1,300 kilometers and constructing 950 kilometers of drainage across the three Senatorial Districts of Delta State, demonstrating a significant commitment to infrastructure.

In my opinion, Governor Oborevwori’s successes can largely be attributed to his prudent financial management, zero tolerance for corruption, and an unwavering commitment to the ethics of good governance.

In the health sector, he has made significant advancements, such as upgrading and re-equipping 150 Primary Healthcare Centers and General Hospitals, sustaining the mother and child free medical program, and increasing enrollment in the Delta State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme to over two million— the highest figure of any state in Nigeria.

Also, his commitment to peace and security has led to recent successes by security agencies in the state. The signing of the Delta State Electricity Power Sector Bill, 2024, aims to open Delta State for massive industrialization, highlighting his focus on transformative leadership.

Governor Oborevwori has emerged as the PDP poster boy for modern leadership. His leadership style has earned him praise and accolades from critical stakeholders across Nigeria, leading to an increasing demand for his continued governance.

This growing support emphasizes that it would be a disservice for any son from Delta Central to contend for the position of Governor in the upcoming 2027 elections, as the people believe that Governor Oborevwori should continue leading the state.

As he continues to make significant strides in transforming Delta State, I am confident that Governor Oborevwori deserves to maintain his momentum of success. His achievements speak volumes about his capacity and capability as a leader, making a compelling case for his re-election in 2027.
