Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, announced on Friday that the dualization of the Ughelli-Asaba Road is nearing completion.
During a visit to inspect the reconstruction of the Olomoro–Igbide Road in Isoko South Local Government Area, along with the current progress on Sector C2 of the Ughelli–Asaba Expressway, the Governor expressed that the residents of Delta State are satisfied with the speed and quality of the ongoing development initiatives led by his administration.
He pointed out that the favorable responses from citizens reflect his government’s dedication to fostering inclusive growth and sustainable progress.
Governor Oborevwori conveyed his approval of the advancements made in both the Igbide-Olomoro and Ughelli-Asaba road dualization projects.
He highlighted that the MORE Agenda, which serves as a framework for his administration’s development strategies, is already demonstrating significant outcomes that cater to the needs and aspirations of the people of Delta State.
“I am pleased with the efficiency and craftsmanship on display,” Oborevwori remarked. “When I visited in March, the contractors assured me that Sector C1 would be finished by May. Based on what I see now, they are on target. This project will be finalized shortly.”
He continued, “We have received numerous commendations from travelers using this route, as the journey from Asaba to Ughelli now takes less than two hours. This 143-kilometer road represents a major accomplishment, and it’s evident that the community is benefiting from it.”
The Governor asserted that the contentment of the populace is the ultimate indicator of successful governance.
“We take great joy in our role to serve and bring about significant development. Satisfaction among the people brings me happiness.”
He added that improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education are positively impacting lives, emphasizing that these initiatives embody the essence of governance.
Governor Oborevwori noted that positive feedback is evident across all three senatorial districts, with citizens commending the quality of roads, educational institutions, health services, and youth empowerment initiatives.
“This reassures us that we are on the right path and inspires us to strive for even more accomplishments,” he declared.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that every region of the state experiences the benefits of democratic governance, promising that numerous projects have been completed in anticipation of his administration’s second anniversary.
The Governor also reaffirmed his dedication to timely payments to contractors and encouraged them to expedite their work, reiterating his ambition to provide more democratic contributions in alignment with his MORE Agenda and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
